On December 13, 2023, the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft\u2014a well-known Washington think-tank\u2014published an extensive investigative report on \u201cThe Lobbying Battle for Nagorno-Karabakh.\u201d<\/a><\/strong> This is a horrifying account of asymmetry between well-funded and strategically-placed Azeri lobbying effort and Armenian effort, which \u201cdid not even have a FARA\u2013registered lobbying or public relations firm on its payroll from 2020 until earlier this year.\u201d<\/p>

In referring to the Armenian American advocacy grassroots organizations\u2014ANCA and Armenian Assembly\u2014the reports noted that they \u201ccannot overcome the influence of the Azerbaijan lobby within D.C.\u201d, whose activities also benefit from close ties to Turkey and Israel.<\/p>

On the positive side, the report highlighted National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as the only Armenian entity with a formal lobbying representation through its arrangement with The Livingston Group (TLG) and listed specific activities that TLG is engaged in on behalf of NDA.<\/p>

Not surprisingly, the report has received attention from mainstream US news outlets, with Politico<\/a><\/strong> highlightingthe uphill battle faced by Armenian interest and mentioning NDA\u2019s hiring of TLG.<\/p>

The fact that a major think tank and a top news agency are taking note of what NDA does demonstrates that its partnership with TLG is being recognized by the Washington establishment for its pioneering approach and professionalism, a factor to be reckoned with.<\/p>
