STATEMENT

We are pleased to share with you the letter distributed to a number of US Senators by The Livingston Group (TLG) urging them to secure the passage of NDA-endorsed legislation S. 2900 “Supporting Armenians Against Azerbaijani Aggression Act of 2023”.

The Livingston Group represents the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Armenia’s largest pro-Western political party.
On behalf of our client, we encourage the Senator to consider co-sponsoring S. 2900 “Supporting Armenians Against Azerbaijani Aggression Act of 2023” in the U.S. Senate. This historic legislation not only holds Azerbaijan accountable for its atrocities against Artsakh, but establishes frameworks for the U.S-Armenia bilateral relationship across a number of sectors, including, but not limited to, science and technology, defense and security, and energy. Critically, the legislation authorizes $10 million in Foreign Military Financing program assistance for the Republic of Armenia and mandates the formation of a strategy to provide security for the Armenian population of Artsakh.
As such, S. 2900 will not only hold Azerbaijan accountable, but reduce Armenia’s dependency on Russia through stronger partnership with the United States. At this critical juncture, Armenia needs the support of the United States government. The US must proactively assert its own strategic interests together with those of Armenia.
