NATIONAL-DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE
STATEMENT
On participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections of the Republic of Armenia
The Republic of Armenia is facing a decisive moment of historic choice. Today, the sovereignty of the state is undermined, the future of statehood is at stake, national security is shaken, territorial integrity is violated, and Armenian identity is being encroached upon. This crisis is rooted not only due to some misguided political decisions of the authorities, but first and foremost, by the wrong choice of the political course pursued by both the current and previous authorities.
The National Democratic Alliance is convinced that only bold radical changes in state policy and a new national strategy can resolve Armenia’s deep challenges.
Therefore, the National-Democratic Alliance, continuing its determined and active efforts, has decided to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections to chart a new political course for the development of the Republic of Armenia and influence the formation of the state system.
Our main goals are:
The restoration of state sovereignty is a paramount and primary goal for the National Democratic Alliance. The Republic of Armenia must be a fully sovereign state, not a zone of influence for external hostile forces. The state must serve the national interest, uniting the collective potential of the Armenian diaspora for the strengthening and perpetuation of the Armenian state, for the sake of defending the unjustified rights of the Armenian people.
Accordingly, the following steps should be taken:
- Formation of a new security system Armenia’s security should be based on its own modern defense system, a self-sufficient modern economy, national spiritual resistance, and new international military-political allies.
- Reorienting foreign policy Armenia should become part of emerging security systems by developing strategic relations with the United States, Europe, India, and other partners.
- “Smart” revival of the economy The state should not simply distribute the budget unfairly, but become a partner of every citizen, eradicating corruption and bureaucracy through the introduction of artificial intelligence and high technologies, multiplying the added value and turning it into high salaries, decent pensions, advanced education, and high-quality healthcare.
- Return of the Artsakh issue to the international political agenda The Artsakh issue must be returned to the international political agenda and receive its just solution on a legal basis, within the general framework of the solution of the Armenian Question.
- A just and effective state system The rule of law, independent courts, comprehensive lustration, a real and effective fight against corruption, and social justice.
Why do we participate in the elections?
- We participate in the elections because the removal of authorities collaborating with the enemy is a historical imperative as a primary prerequisite for the preservation of Armenian statehood and Armenian national identity.
- We participate in the elections because the issue of power is resolved by being part of the struggle for the formation of power.
- We are participating in the elections not to occupy seats, but to make our decisive contribution to changing the political path of the state.
- We are participating in the elections so that the people of the Republic of Armenia have a real political choice between the current destructive path and a new national-state course.
Our Candidate for Prime Minister and the Pioneers of the Struggle
The National Democratic Front once nominated Varuzhan Avetisyan as its candidate for Prime Minister. We reaffirm our choice because Colonel Avetisyan has been at the forefront of the national liberation struggle for many years, has been subjected to political persecutions, and has proven through his activities that he is guided exclusively by state and national interests. He is a versatile, experienced military and political leader outside the system, has a clear ideological position, and an unwavering will to implement the necessary state changes.
However, considering the legal obstacles to Varuzhan Avetisyan’s direct participation in the election campaign, he will participate in the campaign remotely, as much as possible, in the last days of the election campaign or after overcoming recent health problems. Until then, the entire burden of the election campaign will be borne by the young representatives of the new generation of the National Democratic Alliance, who will be at the top of the electoral list.
We take part in the elections:
- Not to adapt, but to change;
- Not to participate, but to have our share in the victory of the people;
- Not to govern, but to build a state.
