A delegation of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) continued its outreach visit in Washington, DC following the 2025 Forum of the International Democracy Forum.
Specifically, during December 5-11, 2025, the NDA Governing Board member Ara Papian, NDA lobbyists in Washington Jacqueline von Schleppenbach and Diana Banister, and Dr. David Grigorian held extensive discussions on both sides of the aisle in the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as with current and former senior staff at the White House.
The discussion focused on three key pillars: (1) addressing the aftermath of Artsakh’s ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan and its allies, (2) the Pashinyan regime’s war against the Armenian Apostolic Church, and (3) the June 2026 Parliamentary elections in Armenia.
The NDA delegation impressed upon their partners that these unresolved and interrelated issues undermine Armenia’s ability to withstand external shocks and require expedient political solutions.
Specifically, the Pashinyan regime’s ability to deploy large-scale election fraud to compensate for its low approval rating has been mentioned as the key challenge for Armenia’s survival (given Pashinyan’s record of appeasing Azerbaijan and Turkey and his continued reliance on Russia for support) and a critical factor for Western friends of Armenia to monitor and neutralize.
In addition, the delegation expressed concern that the Pashinyan regime’s premeditated attacks on Armenia’s sovereignty and factors determining the nation’s identity risk undermining the spirit of the Trump Administration’s engagement with Armenia and should be addressed head on.
We thank our supporters for making these outreach efforts possible by their generous donations and encourage our friends around the world to redouble their efforts toward securing Armenia’s survival at this critical juncture in our nation’s history.
