On September 22, National Democratic Alliance’s lead lobbyist Jacqueline Helbig von Schleppenbach and Dr. David Grigorian met representatives of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom.

The discussion focused on the religious freedom in Armenia following the malicious attacks by Prime Minister Pashinyan on the Armenian Apostolic Church and its leaders since May 2025. Detention of two Archbishops, other members of clergy and supporters of the church was the focal point of the discussion.

The mismanagement by Pashinyan regime of other aspects of public policy were also highlighted, stressing his strong autocratic tendencies, corruption, violation of human rights and the existence of political prisoners.

The sides agreed to maintain open channels of communication to help advance freedom of religion from state intervention and overall democracy in Armenia.
