The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Armenia’s largest pro-Western political party, is set to expand its lobbying presence in Washington, DC. On June 15, 2024, NDA retained Moran Global Strategies (MGS), the government relations’ firm of former Congressman Jim Moran, who served as a member of Congress from 1991 to 2015. This follows NDA’s 16-months groundbreaking and very productive relationship with The Livingston Group (TLG), with whom we will maintain relations in the interim period.
This new lobbying partnership will help NDA secure closer relations with the Executive Branch of the US Government, while maintaining strong bipartisan relations with the U.S. Congress. Elias Gerasoulis, NDA’s lead lobbyist in Washington, DC, has moved from TLG to MGS and will continue to manage our lobbying efforts in Washington.
Elias Gerasoulis stated: “Congressman Moran is one of the most admired statesmen and lobbyists in Washington, DC, having occupied senior positions on the Appropriations Committee where he was a senior member of the Defense and State Department Foreign Operations Appropriations Subcommittee. He has a history of involvement with Armenia and the Armenian-American community. As the Mayor of Alexandria, Virginia in the 1980’s, he traveled to Armenia in the aftermath of the 1988 earthquake and established the Sister City relationship between Alexandria and Gyumri. Jim’s involvement in lobbying on behalf of NDA will significantly elevate NDA’s voice in the nation’s capital.”
In turn, Congressman Moran noted: “I look forward to assisting NDA and the people of Armenia as they seek to move towards a closer alliance with the West, and, in particular, the United States. NDA has played a critical role in Armenia’s westward shift. Elias Gerasoulis and I are eager to promote NDA’s vision for Armenia and the region to policymakers in Washington.”
