As we informed you previously, Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) and Congresswoman Dina Titus (D-NV) submitted official written questions for the record to James O’Brien, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, in the aftermath of the November 15, 2023, congressional hearing on Artsakh.
The official inquiry contained questions about the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is unprecedented: it is rare for members of congress to highlight a political party in a foreign country to the U.S. Administration, requiring a formal reply from the State Department.
We are pleased to inform you that both Congresswoman Titus and Congressman Issa have now received replies to their questions about the NDA from Assistant Secretary O’Brien.
While due to their classified nature these responses cannot be disclosed, we had an opportunity to review them and find them satisfactory.
We thank The Livingston Group, our lobbyist in Washington, for facilitating our contacts with the US Administration and for helping our friends in Washington have a more nuanced understanding of Armenia and its needs.
We also express our appreciation to Congressman Issa and Congresswoman Titus for their leadership on Armenian issues in Washington, DC.
